I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.” Psalm 101:3

“Once upon a time, my child was a normal teen. My child had all the natural inclinations and interests of a child his age. My child was vibrant, energetic, interesting, engaged, and hungry. At school, my child was focused and working toward good grades, finishing homework assignments. My child was doing well, my child had goals …but something changed.”

I have a question for you, parents. Would you ever give your child of any early age, but particularly between the age of 12 and 19, a highly addictive drug to take? Before you answer that please take into consideration that your answer may only be yes or no. All excuses are disallowed, such as, they need to learn to make decisions on their own, I did not know it was bad, I thought my kid could handle it, and such. No, you have all the facts. It is a highly addictive drug as evidenced by all the parents crying out for help, online and elsewhere, because it has ruined their households to the greater or lesser degree. You, the child’s custodian, have the power to give this drug to them by simply consenting to it. You are the gatekeeper, as it were. The only thing standing in the way of your child using it or not using it is you. You have full control and power inside your house. Now, it is decision time. Will you give it to them by allowing it?

“Fortnite” is a Drug

Yes, it is an interactive video game, but, by definition it is a drug. Consider the facts:  this game is guilty of being addictive in the extreme. The complaints of this fact are all over the blogs and all over every online platform. From my research, this seems to be the number one complaint by far: it is addictive, just like a drug. Also, this game is guilty of making a child become a thief, a liar, a cheat, and disobedient to parents, in the extreme, just like a drug addict. Likewise, this game is guilty of diminishing the value of human life in the participant. This game is guilty of preparing the eyes and the heart of that child to view immodestly clad females, portrayed in the game as sex objects, instead of regarding them as people of great intrinsic value. Yes, by definition, Fortnite is an addictive drug and this “game” is beyond pure evil.

Again, no excuses allowed. I pray this helps you to make a decision to eradicate this game out of your house, immediately and completely, with extreme prejudice and without any regard for the crying of the child. By the way, if your child complains and acts up without it, that is simply more proof of its addictive qualities and that you are doing the right thing by getting rid of it. You will see, the child involved in that game will not want to let it go that easily. Also, understand that your child will not give it up voluntarily. You will have to remove it from them, at least, because you gave it to them. Now comes the tough part. Some of you will have to jump right in and save your child as if from drowning and certain death.

Images of Death

I have heard some of the oppositions to people’s concerns in defense of this game. They are quite simply the devil’s excuses for someone not to make the right choice. One such opposition is that there is no blood. Regardless of whether or not there is red blood coming from the wounds of the characters in the game – your child actually inflicts those wounds and kills those characters, in fact, many, even hundreds of them if they have been playing it for any length of time. The goal of the game, after all, is to kill and destroy your way to victory. (No excuses..remember? For instance, building something from wood during the course of the game; and “teamwork” with online friends to kill and murder is not an acceptable reason to keep it in your home.) And, regardless if the characters appear to be “cartoony”, (and “emote” the 135 Fortnite dance moves including, “flossing” and “dabbing” to make the killing more fun), they still represent human life to the tender subconscious of that child who is incapable of separating the two. They are being desensitized to the taking of precious life, first in a virtual setting and then translated into an acceptable reality of society. Once the children are involved and gripped by this drug, they become corrupted. Just like venom injected into a snakebite where neurotoxins begin to take effect and destroy the health of the victim, likewise this game poisons their hearts and minds and they become different.

What About Christian Families?

Sadly, many Christian parents have given in to allowing this drug in to their homes only to find the effects unmanageable. The child is gripped by another spirit. What spirit is that manifesting in my child? The Bible says, ye shall know them by their fruits. So, inspect the fruit in that child! Are you witnessing the fruit of the Spirit found in the following verses?

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God…” I John 4:1a

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.” Psalm 101:3

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of  the Father is not in him.” I John 2:15

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Eph. 5:11

Even if this game is deemed to be safe by anyone, which is unfathomable, a Christian who claims to be saved cannot do whatever they want for the Bible clearly teaches they are bought with a price and they are not their own.

So ultimately, this game is actually an attack on the parents and their homes by the game producer, on the authority of the parent and then the innocence of the child. They have come for your children. Are you just going to let those monsters walk away with them? Or, will you fight to keep your child? Don’t kid yourself, they know that they are taking your child hostage and they do not care about you or your child. So now that we have established the truth, (remember, no excuses allowed – just the facts!), what are you going to do?

To you parents who have not allowed your child to be exposed to this drug, don’t allow it in and you will be safe from it. If your children have friends who are playing this game, it would be advisable to keep them from those homes and places where that drug is being used. Remember, if your children are not using, then your children are not addicted, because they do not know what it is. They have not been exposed to it.

As for the rest who have already allowed your child to be exposed to this drug, you have some tough decisions to make. First, you gave it to them, now you have to remove it from them. You are going to have to treat them like drug addicts. You have to take your child away from the drug and the drug dealer. That is, remove the computer and phone or whatever device is in question away and claim it as your own, only distributing usage of it for reasons which you allow, (ie.: school homework, etc.) Believe me, I get it! We are talking hardball, here! This is a battle royale!

Parents. You are responsible for it all. What they see. What they do. And what they do not see and do. This takes great courage and extra effort in this day and age. Of course, you do understand that the devil, our enemy, is behind the destruction of our children. He wants them and is coming to get them. Will you let him have them or are you ready to fight to keep them? ~R.
